So, in reaction towards the ubiquitous admonishment that Adria Richards must have nicely requested the males who have been creating a professional conference a hostile atmosphere with sexually inappropriate jokes to impress, sirs, stop being so gross, I began a hashtag: #IAskedPolitely, for individuals to document the reactions they have reached nicely requesting anyone to stop bothering or doing harm to them.The thing is to not begin a conversation about whether you should be polite or otherwise. #IAskedPolitely isn't concerning the validity to be polite. It comes down to the futility.
